Remote Control For Samsung TV

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 4, 2026

IVIK LLC ("we", "our", or "us") provides Remote Control For Samsung TV (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the App on Android or iOS devices.

1. Information We Process

The App is designed to control compatible Samsung TVs and casting devices. To provide these functions, the App may process the following information:

  • Local network information needed to discover and connect to Samsung TVs and casting devices.
  • TV names, model information, identifiers, IP addresses, MAC addresses, and Samsung metadata when exposed by the TV or discovery APIs.
  • Saved remote preferences, pairing tokens, primary TV selection, app shortcut settings, language settings, and other preferences stored on your device.
  • Connection and pairing state needed to send remote commands to a TV.
  • Remote commands, cursor movement, touchpad actions, and text you enter when you choose to send text to a connected TV.
  • Photos, videos, or local media files only when you select them for casting.
  • Infrared emitter availability and IR command data on supported Android devices.
  • App version and remote update configuration checks used to determine whether an app update is required.
  • Diagnostics, crash reports, app events, device model, OS version, app version, advertising data, and similar technical data used to maintain, monetize, and improve the App.
  • Purchase, subscription, entitlement, product, transaction, and pseudonymous app/user identifiers when premium subscriptions are offered through Google Play and RevenueCat.

2. Android Permissions

Depending on your Android version and device capabilities, the App may request or use permissions related to internet access, network state, Wi-Fi state, multicast/local network discovery, and infrared transmission. The App declares the optional consumer infrared hardware feature so IR controls are available only on supported phones.

The App uses local network and Wi-Fi state access to find Samsung TVs, validate Wi-Fi/VPN state, connect to TVs, check update configuration, display ads, report diagnostics, and support Google Cast features. The TRANSMIT_IR permission is used only for infrared remote commands on devices that include an IR emitter.

3. iOS Permissions

On iOS, the App may use the local network permission to find and connect to Samsung TVs on your Wi-Fi. The exact prompts shown depend on your iOS version and the features you use. Some Android-only features, such as infrared control and the current casting implementation, may not be available on iOS.

4. How We Use Information

  • To discover, pair with, reconnect to, and control compatible Samsung TVs.
  • To send remote commands, cursor/touchpad actions, text input, and selected local media to compatible devices.
  • To remember your settings and improve the reliability of repeated use.
  • To check whether a forced app update is required for compatibility or continued operation.
  • To provide, manage, and restore premium subscription entitlements when subscriptions are available.
  • To show ads, limit ad frequency, measure ad performance, analyze aggregate feature usage, diagnose failures, fix crashes, and improve compatibility.
  • To respond when you contact support.

5. Local Network, Text Input, Cast Media, and IR

TV discovery and remote control operate over your local network or platform APIs where available. Text input is sent only when you use the App's text entry feature. Local media is accessed only when you choose content to cast, and the App may temporarily serve selected media over your local network during casting. Infrared commands are sent only when you use IR controls on a compatible Android device.

6. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services that process technical, analytics, crash, advertising, payment, subscription, or platform-service data under their own privacy policies. These providers may collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP address, app events, diagnostics, crash data, purchase data, subscription status, ad interactions, approximate location, precise location where permitted by the operating system and user consent, and other technical information depending on your device, consent choices, platform settings, and the features you use.

Advertising providers and mediation partners may use mobile advertising identifiers and similar technologies to serve ads, limit ad frequency, measure performance, detect fraud, and comply with legal requirements. Where required by law or platform rules, the App or the operating system may ask for your consent before personalized advertising or tracking is used.

7. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

We do not intentionally collect TV names, MAC addresses, local network IP addresses, pairing tokens, or text-input content in our first-party analytics events or support email templates. Third-party SDKs may process IP address, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, diagnostics, purchase data, ad interactions, and location-related data as described above. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Data Retention and Security

Settings saved by the App remain on your device until you change them, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Diagnostics, crash reports, ad data, and subscription records handled by third-party services are retained according to those providers' policies. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

10. Your Choices

You can control permissions in Android or iOS system settings, delete saved App data, manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play, uninstall the App, or contact us about privacy questions. Some features may stop working if a required permission is disabled.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
